The Core Numbers

Five numbers form the heart of a numerology profile. Two come from your birth date, three from your birth name — together the tradition reads them as a layered portrait: terrain, capacities, motivation, surface, and texture.

Computed from your full birth date, the Life Path is the tradition's keystone number — read not as a destiny but as the *terrain* a life keeps returning to: its recurring themes, appetites, and lessons. A Life Path 1 keeps meeting questions of initiative and independence; a 7, questions of depth and solitude; a 9, questions of breadth and release. Computed from all the letters of your name, the Expression (also called the Destiny number in the tradition) is read as your characteristic ways of working and contributing — the toolkit, the outward register of capability. Where the Life Path describes terrain, the Expression describes what you tend to build on it: the 4's structures, the 3's articulations, the 8's stewardship.

Computed from the vowels alone, the Soul Urge (the tradition also calls it the Heart's Desire) is read as the inner current: what quietly nourishes, what pulls, what you want when nobody is asking. It is often the least visible number from outside — and the one people most often recognize with a small shock. A sociable life can carry a 7 Soul Urge's need for depth and stillness underneath.

Computed from the consonants, the Personality number is read as the surface others meet first: the register of first impressions, before depth becomes visible. The tradition doesn't treat it as a mask or a false self — it is the doorway, not the house. When the Personality and Soul Urge differ sharply, the tradition reads an interesting gap between how you arrive and what moves you.

The day of the month you were born, read raw (1–31), is the smallest of the core numbers: a specific texture or instrument inside the larger chord. A 31st-day birthday lends a taste for finished, tangible work; an 11th-day, a note of heightened sensitivity. It colors the profile rather than steering it.

The positions matter as much as the numbers: a 5 Life Path (terrain of change and movement) with a 4 Soul Urge (motivation toward order) reads very differently from the reverse. The portrait is in the chord, not any single note — and like everything in this tradition as we practice it, it is offered as a language for reflection: images to sit with and test against your own experience, never a verdict on who you are.
